How to skip intros and recaps on every streaming app
Every service reinvented the same button — “Skip Intro”, “Skip Recap”, “Skip Credits”, “Next Episode” — and not one lets you turn it on for good on a TV. Here's what each app calls it, and the single way to make them all automatic without lifting the remote.
What each app calls its skip button
| Streaming app | Skip buttons it shows | Autoplay next? |
|---|---|---|
| Netflix | Skip Intro, Skip Recap | Yes — plus “Are you still watching?” |
| Disney+ | Skip Intro, Skip Recap | Yes — Next Episode |
| Prime Video | Skip Intro, X-Ray recap | Yes — Next Episode |
| Max | Skip Intro, Skip Recap | Yes |
| Hulu | Skip Intro | Yes |
| Apple TV+ | Skip Intro | Yes — Up Next |
| YouTube | Skip Ads, Skip Intro | Yes — autoplay |
| Paramount+ / Peacock | Skip Intro, Skip Recap | Yes |
For the big three we go deeper, app by app: Netflix, Disney+ and Prime Video.
Why you can't just switch it on
None of these apps expose an “always skip” setting on a TV, and the browser extensions people suggest only run on a computer. On an actual TV, the only practical route is something that watches the screen and presses for you.
The one method that covers all of them
LazyBinger's camera auto-pilot reads whatever's on screen with on-device text recognition, so it doesn't care which app you're in. A community “cue pack” maps each service's button labels — per language — so localized buttons and new apps are recognized without an app update. (Premium.) It works across all 12 TV platforms LazyBinger supports.
Set up once, for every app
- Open LazyBinger and pair your TV — auto-detected on your Wi-Fi.
- Prop the iPhone facing the screen, camera toward the TV.
- Turn on the camera auto-pilot — it dims to a dark mode.
- Start any app and let it press skip for the rest of the night.
Frequently asked
Which streaming apps are supported? Any of them — detection is visual, not per-app. The cue pack tunes button wording for the major services and grows over time.
What about ads? A visible “Skip Ad” button is pressed like any other; unskippable ad breaks can't be jumped by any remote.
Does it work in my language? Yes — the cue pack is per language, so localized buttons (“Passer l'intro”, “Intro überspringen”…) are recognized too.
New to all this? Start with using your iPhone as a TV remote, then turn on automatic skipping.
