1. Who provides LazyBinger

LazyBinger (“the app”) is published by Vincent Bouzeran (LazyBinger). You can reach us at contact@lazybinger.com for any question about these terms.

These terms form an agreement between you and us about your use of the app. By downloading or using LazyBinger, you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the app.

2. What the app does

LazyBinger turns your iPhone into a remote control for televisions and streaming devices on your own local network. It discovers them, sends commands using each manufacturer's own protocol, and — with Premium — can listen for spoken commands or watch your screen through the camera to press on-screen buttons such as “Skip Intro” for you.

The app is a tool you point at hardware you control. You are responsible for using it only on devices you own or are authorised to operate, and on networks you are allowed to use.

3. No affiliation with TV manufacturers

LazyBinger is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple, Samsung, LG, Sony, Roku, Amazon, Google, Vizio, Hisense, Panasonic, Philips, TCL, Netflix, or any other company whose name may appear in the app or on this site.

Those names and logos belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe which devices and services the app can work with. Compatibility is not a partnership, and manufacturers may change their protocols at any time in ways that break it.

4. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the app on devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, sell, rent, sublicense, reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where that restriction is void under the law that applies to you.

Your use of the app is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. Where that agreement and these terms conflict on a point Apple imposes, Apple's terms prevail.

5. Free features and Premium

The remote itself is free and stays free: device discovery, directional pad, keyboard, volume, app launching, Wake-on-LAN, sleep timer and the Apple Watch remote. No account, no ads.

Premium unlocks the automations — voice commands and the camera auto-pilot. It is sold through the App Store as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a single one-time purchase. Prices are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency, and may change for future purchases.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. You manage and cancel them in your Apple ID settings, not in the app — we cannot cancel them for you. A one-time purchase does not renew.

6. Payments and refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple. We never see your name, payment method or Apple ID; the app only verifies your entitlement locally through App Store receipts.

Because Apple is the merchant of record, refunds are requested from Apple and granted at Apple's discretion, under its own policy. We have no ability to issue, refuse or reverse a refund. If something is broken, write to us first — we would rather fix it.

7. Promotional access

We sometimes hand out free Premium access for a limited period. Such access is personal, may be single-use, and is granted as a courtesy — it is not a sale and creates no entitlement to a refund, extension or replacement. We may decline or revoke access obtained by sharing, reselling or automating the redemption of a code.

8. Acceptable use

Do not use the app to control devices you have no right to control, to disturb others, or to interfere with a network you are not authorised to use. Do not use it to circumvent access controls or licensing on any service, and do not use it in a way that breaks the law where you are.

The camera auto-pilot exists to press a button on a screen in front of you. Do not use it to record, monitor or capture anything else, and remember that filming other people without their knowledge is unlawful in many places.

9. Availability and changes

We develop LazyBinger as a small independent project. We may add, change or remove features, and support for a given device or protocol may end if a manufacturer changes it or it becomes impractical to maintain. We do not guarantee that any particular television, model or firmware will work, now or in the future.

Compatibility lists describe what we have seen work; they are not a promise. If the app does not work with your device, the App Store refund process applies as described above.

10. No warranty

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your expectations.

Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country of residence, where those rights cannot be waived.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app — including missed content, damage to a television or device, or loss of data. Our total liability is limited to the amount you actually paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.

We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

12. Third-party services

The app downloads a small public detection file from lazybinger.com so it can recognise on-screen buttons in many languages. If you choose the on-device Whisper engine, its model is downloaded once from Hugging Face. If you use Apple's speech engine, Apple's own terms and privacy policy apply to that processing.

These are the only external services involved. Everything else — TV control, voice matching, screen reading — happens on your iPhone and your local network.

13. Privacy

We keep no user database and no account system. What the app stores, what stays on your device and what leaves it is described in full in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

14. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms. Material changes will be announced in the app or on this site.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the country in which the provider is established, without affecting any mandatory consumer protection you enjoy where you live. Disputes may be brought before the competent courts of that country, or of your own country of residence where the law gives you that right.
